On another machine with realtek ALC283 I see that there is a synthesised
beep channel which works when loopback is enabled.
Is there a way for me to get such behaviour from the 897

DAW: disconnect from the hardware, run as fast as possible (or as slow
as needed) to export, then re-connect to the soundcard.
As for the actual snd_ API that jack calls when en/disabling

The sound chip is Intel HDA, ALC260. I have tried setting
options snd-hda-intel model=fujitsu
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, but this hasn't made any difference.
There is no "Jack Sense" option in alsamixer. I've also tried a couple of
values for fix_position.
I've tried following the ubuntu

Hello,
I am trying to play a sound on bleutooth device.
To do so, I run : aplay -D bt data/sounds/.wav
I get the following error: ALSA lib pcm.c:2162:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot
open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_bt.so
The lib "libasound_module_pcm_bt.so" is a random folde
s a random folder (lets say
/mnt/user/).
I can not move the lib to /usr/lib/alsa-lib/ because its mounted as a
read-only filesystem and I can't mount it as rw.
Do you know how to specify the lib's path in a configuration file?

Hi,
I'd like to add that the sound works over the headphones but not over the
speaker. Anyway, that's the more important output device for a netbook IMHO.
Therefore, I won't upgrade to testing/sid but might try to compile a newer
Alsa version if you think that might help.
B
might get sound will be very much appreciated.
Although I'd like to stay on Debian/stable I think about upgrading to testing
or sid. If a new Alsa version might solve my sound problem would you
recommend me (I've never compiled Alsa before) to build Alsa from source?
Best regards,

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me configure my USB phone on Fedora Core 5
so I can use it with Skype.
I'm running FC5 on a Toshiba laptop with an internal Intel sound card.
This is working fine.
I've plugged in the phone and booted and see the following in
/proc/asound/cards:

That is because hw:0 and hw:1 are physically separate devices. Your SB
and Tascam cards are physically separate devices.
