Hello,
recently I upgrade my ASUS M3N BIOS to version 0205A (released 20031117). Now with the ALSA modules I experience a new problem, which is related to ACPI, too. I attached my 'dmesg' from both kernel 2.4.23-rc2 and 2.6.0-test9 (I've the same problem on the 2 kernel versions). I know that there're new kernel releases (2.4.23-rc5 and 2.6.0-test11), but I already installed them and I experience the same exact problem. As I told before, the problem is related to ACPI, because the last line above was already present even when ALSA errors weren't there. On the other hand, I already posted in the ACPI mailing-list, but no one has helped me ATM (neither to better debug the problem).
The strange behaviour is that sometimes sound works and sometimes it doesn't. But there're no differences between when it does and when it doesn't. I mean: I boot on, I log in GNOME 2.4, I start XMMS and sound doesn't work. I reboot, the same passages and sound works.
Please let me know if I should post something other.
