There is no data arriving from the device. Probably an interrupt
problem. Try disabling ACPI and/or the local APIC.

Still can't record. I get the following error:
pcm_read:1169 input/output error
Perhaps I'm missing a device file. Where should I check?

Hello,
I've installed alsa-1.0.4 and am trying to record a test message from a
mic. When I enter arecord test.wav, nothing is recorded and an empty wav
file is created consisting of a header and no data.
Any ideas?
Thanks
