I'm attempting to configure ALSA on a new system with a SBLive card.
The old box (dead with a fried motherboard) also had a SBLive, so I
basically just copied the configuration files over. At this point I'm
not getting any error or warning messages, and ALSA appears to load
with no problems whatsoever. The sound device permissions all look
good, and everything under /proc/asound seems normal. I've run
alsamixer, and ensured that all of the volume controls are set to
audible levels. I've tried kernel versions 2.4.20 and 2.4.21-pre[67],
compiled both with gcc 2.95 and 3.3.

Unfortunately, when I attempt to play something no sound results. The
player doesn't indicate any errors, but completes in a greatly
accelerated timeframe. For example, mpg123 and xmms both report
successful completion of a 3 minute mp3 file in approximately 10
seconds.

Any suggestions for what I should be looking at? Thanx!
