Hmmm, I ran the query straight from the docs and the columns are of type

It seems like Amavis ate something it didn't like and then died.
Any thoughts?
A reboot fixed it, but since the whole mail server is down when amavis dies,
I'd like to prevent this from happening.

No, when users send mail the envelope_sender is the same as the From:.
When automated processes send mail on behalf of the users then the
envelope_sender is different
