On RedHat, when doing "# service amavisd stop",
the following error message appears in my logs and amavisd-new refuse to

We are using amavisd 2.5.2 on our RHEL 4.5 academic server
(postfix 2.4.5, spamassassin 3.2.3...) and it work well
but we have some performance issues.
When trying to find a solution (by browsing with google),
I saw references to two utilities amavisd-nanny and amavisd-agent.

need,
it is a SMTP proxy that sit between postfix and amavisd-new
