I have written some documentation of the check_mail function in amavisd-new from the point of view of an MTA input module, which can be found at http://www.martinorr.name/amavisd-new If anyone finds any mistakes in it, please tell me.
I also observe that all the input packages contain some duplicated code which really is MTA-independent (and Courier has fallen behind some of the changes to this). Could this be split out into separate functions? Specifically: 1. Temporary directory creation 2.
