Has anyone noticed a contant low grade buz in the city? I thought it
originated from the house so I turned off the power hoping to hear
silence but found the noise was still buzzing this constant humm... but
from the outside.
This low grade transmission is so loud it is distrubing my sleep.
Well I must say, despite the nostalgic hold the Asbury of old still has on me,
I think that
this is one of the most lucid, best thought out posts i've seen in awhile about
the future of
Asbury. Good job.
For me, i'll just never understand why the powers the be in AP let all of the
"old" go...

I think the biggest challenge I have Werner is that the waterfront
area's history from the era you rightfully site as the history is
just that - history. Unlike Cookman, where much of the
infrastructure remained and could be reused, there is not so much

I also remember going to Long Branch when I was a kid (mid-late 70's -
wow I feel old now), visiting the haunted mansion, etc... It was
well into it's decline but was still a very fun place to go. AP was
in a simliar state by then and you could argue all day about which
one was dead first, dep

recollection from my 20's was that Long Branch, while certainly not
as grand as it once was, still had a good tourist economy. I was
there quite often, delivering ice there all day and going back for
