ASBURY PARK — The owner of the former Metropolitan Hotel site on Asbury
Avenue plans to build a six-story, 98-unit residence that would adopt many of
the architectural features of the landmark white building that was razed
in March 2008.
In a presentation to the City Council this past week
Now that the building is gone, the NEW for sale sign reads
"This property NOW for sale" or words to that,
vs the "old" for sale sign...

I agree with Johna below, but I hardly expect a city that did not have
the wherewithal to preserve CH, Paramount and the Casino to be able to
save the Metropolitan. But in essence I agree, there should be a local
preservation authority. I am not looking for further regulation or
tying owners hands,

official response. It certainly seems like a valid point. If you're
