Dan,
In reference to your comment: You're mind was made up I've just re-read all your posts going back as far as February 9. I
was impressed with your single-minded focus on redevelopment issues as you see
them, with very few forays into rumor or innuendo. On the other
hand, it is evident that your mind was made up even back then
with nary a concession made since then to any of the truths revealed
here. I don't find anything wrong with that,... and I won't comment, "How
sad."
But I'm baffled as to how you know when exactly
I made up my mind, to say specifically it was at the moment of
AP|Action's endorsements. When I said yesterday that "by now,
minds are made up," it was in the context of "now," the day before the
election, not February, March, or April. Despite last minute revelations
("truths," as you call them) from all sides, I still doubt any minds were
changed since the weekend, especially on this list.
It's presumptuous of you to imply that my use of quotes precludes any
thinking on my part.
They are tools of rhetoric that I judge to be useful shortcuts; others
here prefer their facts, figures, and statistics.
If we were debating national issues such as social security, unemployment,
or the debt, I would find the following a useful shortcut to my thoughts
regarding politicians and their partisans who hold up their charts and cite
numbers: There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and
statistics. -Benjamin Disraeli
For most people, that quote cuts to the chase more effectively than
mind-numbing explanations about the differences between rates and
numbers; the totally different meanings of average,
mean, and medium.
Respectfully,
Mario

You're mind was made up when AP|APAC made its endorsement no matter what truths are revealed to you. How sad. Why not put down whatever quote book you are looking at and start thinking for yourself.
