You're both right, IMHO. I know Robert personally, and yes, gay has nothing to
do with it, as long as the job is being done. Robert was appointed first by
the State, then he was duly elected. End of story! If he is found to be
incompetent, then that's another story, but so far so good!You have to walk a
mile in a Black Man's shoes before you criticize why Mr. Maynard is up in arms.
I am Black also and I think educated Black minds are best for Black children,
my opinion. I don't mean ANY Black person, just competent Black people. Stand
on my side of the street and you'd know. I don't know all of the details of the
so-called tampering, but I know both of the parties involved. I've heard some
details from a teacher in the high school who claims Reinoso involved her when
she wasn't involved at all. He was the culprit and chose to drag the other
party down with him. Yes, he's a punk if that's the true story. My opinion.
What got me is the whistleblower who did this is also reported to be jealous of
both of them and chose this course of action. Gossip? Maybe! I don't really
know all of the insider details but I'm repeating what I heard. I don't know
the originator of the email in question, but he/she has a right to his/her
opinion without profanity involved. Don't know what the rules of this group are
but I hope we can be civil, if not polite.

I agree with both points of view. Bobby's sexual preference has
nothing to do with anything. I also, think you're correct in stating
that African American youngsters need professional Black role models,
but I feel the Asbury Park School District getting the best of all
worlds. Bobby and the guys have brought fresh ideas to help with the
district's diversification. Dr. Lewis is running the district in a
orderly, competent manner and he has my respect especially after he
publicly backed Bobby when there were the issues with Maynard.
Remember? I think there are some tremendous things happening in the
elementary schools. I listened to Maureen's show when the group from
Dr. Lewis's office was on speaking of all the strides that are being
accomplished in the pre and elementary schools. I was utterly impressed
with the obvious management of the district. Now that the elementary
schools are progressing, I know our superintendent can concentrate on
the High School. Unfortunately, that school has had a bad streak of
luck, losing that nasty principal (I saw him on the beach and he's
still a nasty man) and vice principal last year for what I believe was
record tampering. So now for the good news
while jogging this week
around the back of the high school, I met the adorable new principal of
our high school. He's Hispanic with tremendous urban experience. I
enjoyed talking to him and from what I gather, the high school is going
to be on right track this coming year. Great job, Dr. Lewis and the
Board!
