My perception of AP, in 1968, was that Cookman Ave., WAS the downtown!
I didn't know where Springwood Ave. was. I was taken to Steinbach's
to shop. When I moved here 2 years later, Springwood Av. was burned
out from the riot. I have to look in the Carter book, to see what
Springwood had
Where I come from, the beaches are FREE! I thought I was being
"fleeced", the first time, I stepped onto the 16th Ave. Beach, in
Belmar. I wound up buying beach badges, for my kids. When I realize
the Beach WAS the industry here, I understood. I can't fault anyone
from trying to make a living,

To be honest, it's really a matter of taste.
I used to have an office on the corner of Main and Front street, right above

that was there for decades. Woolworths was still in business. Monmouth street

enduringly
