There was a Press Conference today in front of the West Side Community 
Center held by Assemblyman Sean Kean.

Sean has proposed new legislation that would increase jail time for 
illegal weapons of various sorts, particularly sawed off shotguns.

During the conference, he announced he will seek $100,000.00 from the 
Department of Community Affiars to help Asbury Park purhcase a 
surveillance system.

In attendance were Assembly Candidate Dave Rible, Sheriff Candidate Kim 
Guadagno, Trooper President David Jones, The Chiefs of Police from 
several surrounding towms, AP Police Chief Kinmon as well as many other 
members of the AP Police and Fire Department.

Councilman James Keady was present and spoke.  Assemblyman Kean noted 
that Councilman Keady was spearheading the local effort to bring 
surveillence cameras to AP.
