Okay, I know it seems all I post about is food lately... But this is pretty interesting news. Sister Sue's (on Bond Street) is open for business! Monday - Saturday 11am - 10pm! BYOB! Here's what's especially great about this place: There's been an ongoing conversation floating from a few different sectors of our community discussing variety (or lack thereof) in late night dining. Then there are the sub-concerns such as: healthful options, vegetarian/vegan options, something other than a diner or another Italian restaurant (I'm Italian, by the way, and must have pasta on a daily basis or I'll go into anaphylactic shock, but come on!)
Well, this place has it all, and it's reasonably priced, and the staff is so over-the-top nice, that you can't help but love them. The fare is the owner's grandmother's (Sister Sue) recipies, and features the cuisine of Trinidad & Tobago. Some of the words in the dishes names may sound familiar if you're familiar with Indian food: Aloo (potato) and Chana (chickpea), Roti, and, of course, Curry. But I have to say it was nothing like Indian food. It's truly its own thing, and definitely worthy of your checking it out if you're into ethnic foods.
