Well, there are many musicians living there, but the area has
long bene a haven for counter-culture and artistic types going all the way
back before Arlo Guthrie's"Alice's Restaurant" in the 60's. It's not just a
place where Woodstock happened. Lots of famous recording studios are there,

Off to Woodstock tomorrow to the "Midnight Ramble" at Levon Helmm Studios.
Never went, but we were invited. Music as Tourism. The only thing I
knew about Woodstock was some albums my older sister had with a couple
people skinny dipping in a mudhole.
