Here's a comparison of the various codecs on a 533 Mhz Xscale. This is with speex 1.1.7, with fixed point and arm assembly enabled... I was pleased to see that the other codecs, besides speex, scale roughly comparable with clock vs a vs the P4 g723 gsm ulaw alaw g726 adpcm slin
