right mind would pay for a 20 amp circuit to a single box?
Entire circuits are the norm on both continents for cabinets.

Why not just keep it all as SIP and get a T1 with an ISP who will
support QOS for you?

Is there some material benefit here/ obvious advantage of using IAX to

Agreed... Also agreed that XO does well for point to point and voice
services. Never been a huge fan of their IP access though.
We have a growing number of XO point to point T1s and have had very few
problems with them and they are painless to get turned up.

cheap "unlimited" origination DIDs just let me

The problem is that there is not really a solution, you get either cheap
DIDs or free porting. This is due to porting being a manual process
and thus full of cost on the wholesale level, that cost can be covered
by a fee or higher monthly rates.

Looks to be owned by gnaps, anybody who resells their service can
probably get you setup with a number in that area code.

You realize that prefixes are allocated to a specific provider, short of
porting the existing number, you don't have a huge number of options.
Thanks,
John

The simplest solution is to just use a provider that implements this
properly. I know our providers (big international networks) all
support this with no problem, if you are seeing many different types of
DTMF you likely have a very broken reseller in the path...
