FYI... the Russound amp I am using is the R235LS, rated at 35 watts.
One nice touch is a user adjustable Auto On/Off function and individual
gain adjustments for R,L channels. I mounted the amp vertically on the
back of my bedroom dresser, in close proximity to the squeezebox, but
entirely out o

Just got the Elpac WM075...Damn, that thing is heavy. I think it weighs

I'd second Skunk - you really only need the speakers in the wall or
ceiling. The power amp could be hidden elsewhere nearer a mains power
source.
I've got a Linn Roomamp in the kickspace void under the kitchen units
with the speaker cable hidden in the wall in a few places but mostly in
the serv
the memory testing will be because of the internal re-design of the
unit, previously the X6/600 used regular sixed DIMM modules

Yoh-Dah (the Infrant guy, not the one who talks strangely & has weird
ears) has posted that they are currently testing 1GB SODIMM modules for
compatibility. I was not aware that anyone had done this yet.
How has it affected performance?

yeah the new one defaults to stats off.
im comparing speed and usability to an itunes/ winamp experience.
its lightyears better than changing cds, but there is always room for
improvement.
I guess i should mention that my nas is not just a music server, so
some of the lag could be attributed to o
I just installed m new X6 and the Infrant version of SS. It appears
that they have now set the default to have library statistics off.
