definitely DO benefit from a warm-up AND break-in/burnin time. This is
something that is measureable.
As for speaker cables, from what i've read, the general consensus is

If you have a good DAC you are wasting money with the mods, IMO, they
made no difference in my system. The anolog mods do improve the sound
but not as much as a good DAC.
Stock SB with elpac into Lavry DAC10 or comparable will rival pretty
much anything out there.

One caution about MP3 (which you've probably heard) is that it is still
"lossy" compression. That means that part of the sound is simply thrown
away as "unimportant." That makes MP3 a very efficient format for file
size reduction, but once those bits and bytes get tossed, they are just
