With respect to all the posters everyone's point of view is correct in it's own way. I would suggest that the overall syngery between the components is more important than the one link in the chain. $$$ cost doesn't necessarily predicate the level of performance and you should listen with your ear

Surely impulse response is the same as wide bandwidth. An impulse signal has a short rise time and the shape of the wave means high frequency components. if the equipment tests well with single frequencies up to say 40kHz then it should deal with any audible impulse signal. -- mudlark SB3>Cy

Patrick - aren't you going to define "measure flat" - by what method? If its impulse response is flat then it is...flat? (isn't it) If not, then the whole notion of impulse based response modelling is wrong? Phil -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...i

Thanks JHM731... Your comment allowed me to get the 24/96 output from the toslink connector to the Lexicon. I did look for that, but assumed it would have been a system preference as opposed to a utility. Still cannot seem to get the hi-rez to the transporter though... -- rhodyavphile -
