Do answer your question directly, it's nothing to do with the hard drive
or the ethernet cable. It could be the rips, it could (maybe) be the
SB3's output, it could be something silly like bandwidth limiting or
replay gain being enabled.

How have you ripped your music files - what ripping program, what

Get a Transporter - 30 day return priviledge and it will most likely fix
the problem since its digital output is much superior to the SB3. You
can also compare the analog out to your current DAC.

I'm using my Slim Devices box in my living room where my primary hifi
is. To get the data there from my G5, I'm running about 25 feet of
Ethernet cable under my house. It connects, via wall jack, to the Slim

cable to my modded Ele
OK, I've talked myself into giving it a try. I'm downloading the
"Allegri's Miserere & Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli" at Studio

Steve: I currently have 5 cds by the Tallis Scholars and I'm a fan. I
especially love the Iberian Requiems cd set.
I am curious about your pricing of your downloads. All 62 of Gimell's
cds are currently available from ArkivMusic for $16.99 each. That's
only $1 more than your price of $15.99 for
Steve, I suggest removing 88.2 from your spec sheet until we have
released the update. Currently 88.2 is played at 44.1 and is not even
downsampled correctly.

A beta firmware update for proper 88.2 KHz support, along with other
fixes, is coming very soon. Yes, right now 88.2 plays like crap.
I've also made some significant optimizations that prevent us from
becoming CPU-bound when playing 24/96 FLAC with the spectrum analyzer
enabled.

Is that the key to Jobs' turnaround of Apple, his team design out that
need. (OK, at the expense of ensuring there is only the Apple approved
way of working).

Thanks for sharing.
Just thought I'd mention you could also get a Transporter instead and
