Special thanks to Phil for referring me to Dave @ hirezaudiovideo. He's

This may be so, but I have no intentions of replacing the Tag for some
time. And c
Yes, I should have been clearer. I can hear a difference between flac
and wave on my TP when using the unbalanced analogue out. Oh, and both
my son and I prefer flac.

Hi;
Thanks for all the good advices. I'm in favour of getting as Duet
combined with a DAC - I'll have to test a few ones in order to find my
favourite one. I think one of the main decision points are the
flexibility, that I get by combining Duet with an external DAC.
Once again thanks for your f
I have problems with the knob not working (it locks up). So I usually
don't use it, since the ability to play 24/88.1 files matter more to
me. (A simple cost/benefit evaluation). Otherwise I don't have any
problems - well perhaps it reacts a little slower to the remote some of
the time, but I am u

It compares the analog outs, starting on page 3.
Personally I wouldn't pay the slightest bit of attention to the

Be careful! Make sure you get the 75 ohm variant of the BNC cable, not
a 50 ohm type. A "video" cable will be 75 ohms. Not only is the cable
different RG59 (75 ohm) vs RG58 (50 ohm), but the plug is physically
different, although it should intermate without damage.

After extensive Blind Testing of streamed FLAC vs WAV (documented

As others have experienced, when I activate the digital inputs on my TP,
I get a horrible burst of volume. Issue was supposedly fixed in fw. 33,
but when i installed fw 36 w/SC 7.0, the issue persisted. I now have
been told that 40 has fixed the problem.
I want to install 40, but have heard anecd
My experience is that the disk format is of minor importance. If you
really want to test the difference, go to Linn an buy the same sond in
high res and normal CD format. I'm sure that you will hear a difference
but this is only why the original master is of excellent quality.
Unfortunately you do
I think that the DAC is the most important difference between the SB3
and the transporter. So when you already use an excellent external DAC,
the difference will be much smaller than for others who buy a
transporter instead of a SB3.
Of course there are other advantages: faster processor, better

not attenuated?
Press the controller volume up button or the web interface volume up

It's called lossless not "lossless". On other words, no quotes. It is
literally lossless.
If you hear differences, and I believe you do, there must be some other
reason (more/less network traffic or more/less processing on board or
placebo effect). They are surely not due to the format itself.
