If a person uses Winamp to rip to flac you need to be careful not to overly compress because it uses flake instead of the Reference Flac and is able to compress to the point of breaking flac standards and causing playback problems in lots of devices. This is from memory but thats the gist of it.

I agree with comment about tuning the room. I could use some help in that area. As for DACs, I just ordered a Headroom Ultra Micro DAC for my headphone system and I fully expect a $699 (retail) DAC to crush the SB Duet receiver. Shouldn't I be MAJORLY disappointed otherwise? -- jh901 Living

I'm not Sean, but it would probably be better to use both the balanced and single-ended instead of using a Y cable. Each of those outputs have their own drive stage, so there wouldn't be any chance of mismatch. -- SuperQ
