Dennis...yes , when PS audio introduce their bridge module , I can supposedly dispense with my TP..early 2010.. I tried various other DACs , Red wine audio, cambridge , benchmark and Theta but liked the sonics of the perfectwave and the future ability to link to a NAS etc was the cherry on the top

Isn't it the impulse response of the filter he's trying to correct for? An ideal filter would have an identity impulse response (other than its low pass behaviour) - so by correcting the pre + post echo of a real filter, you get an ideal filter? with no apparent pre or post ringing e.g. somethi

I made progress on getting the impulse response and transfer function of the filters sox is making for me. (It took me a while to figure out how to create a custom wav file to process with sox that contained just an impulse.) The attached jpeg's show the results for Code:
