Is comparing these the way I did fair? OR
Does the SB Server "sense" the capabilities of the attached device and
cycle up the CPU or down covert accordingly? In other words, does the
file processing change if I'm running a SB3 only vs. a TP only vs.
both?
Or are the files always down conve
This is the most sensible move, indeed. ;)

Yea, I've got a Linux house, but I keep a windows VM for doing a few
things.

I am new to this forum and am looking for some advice on the next step
to take. I have an 18-year-old 2 channel stereo system that I use to
listen to mainly classical music and soft rock that I am in process of
upgrading.
I have Paradigm Studio Reference 100 v5 speakers and have a new

In my opinion the Transporter does a fantastic job as a stand alone DAC.
I connected it to the digital outputs of my Cambridge Audio 840 CD
player, which had received rave reviews in an audio publication. Music
played through the Transporter had more transparency and presence than
it did through

Even with no network at all you can get it to work:
Without network longpress left arrow until menu shows up. Search for

Hi Tante
Although I have not done this with mine I would imagine the procedure
should be something like this:
1. Connect to squeezebox.com
2. Extras>digital inputs - select which is your input to the
Transporter
3. Press PLAY.
That should be it I think.
Could try this when connected to Squeeze
Hi everyone,
A couple of weeks ago I got a Transporter. In the manual it said it
could be used as a standalone dac, when not connected to slimserver. So
far I have not been able to get this to work. As soon as I turn off my
laptop, where squeezebox server is located, the transporter shuts down.
