Two years ago, I set out on a quest to understand why certain cables/CD
transports, DACs, etc. sound better than others.
One of my long time audiophile friend, who happens to be in high-end
audio bussiness for 30+ years and he himself an audiophile told me its

Earwaxer,
I have searched computeraudiophile.com and I was unable to find Gordon
suggesting that he could hear the difference between USB cables using
his 'async' process.
Can you post a link to this?
Thanks,
Andy.

Well, that certainly explains why every time I try to open a file off my
USB drive, the data in the file seems to have changed spontaneously. I
was wondering why my old digital photos had slowly gotten more pixelated
over the years.

I encourage you all to spend some time on computeraudiophile.com. Gordon
Rankin of Wavelength Audio, ltd. has a few interesting "observations"
that would get your juices flowing. As you are probably aware, he and
his team have designed and patented a state of the art asynchronous USB

Yes. the first bit is total nonsense. My TACT processes data at 48 bit
resolution and is is 5+ years old...
However, redbook is 16 bit and can NEVER be any more than that no
matter how big a budget is granted to the Marketing department.
Information can never be added, only lost...

I'm sorry but in recent times this forum has veered into the plain

I work with audio all day long and home HiFi has been a passion of mine
for more years that I can count. The only thing I can say is to try it
for yourself. Both the encoding and wired. Remember that some folks
think that MP3's sound just fine. Not everyone can hear the difference.

I have to agree with the original post (earwaxer) about the improved
sound quality of wired vs. wifi. I have a Linn-Naim system and a SB3. My

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
