The only issue here is whether or not your ethernet cable is
accidentally causing a ground loop (only possible with shielded cat -
which is why it should not be used) or if it is providing a pathway for
stray RFI/EMI to enter your DAC - again most likely with shielded

Thank you all. Good news that the over-volt issue is fixed (though it
would be good to know when it will be released).
And I use a FLAC compression setting of 5 :)

heh, I thought you were joking about buying cat7! :)
Is it shielded or unshielded though...if there IS anything to this its
probably that, rather than whether the connectors are gold or not. ;)
