I have a plain SB3 (no ext. DAC or anything) and it's time for a serious
upgrade. What I understand from this thread is that I should:
1. buy an SB Touch;
2. apply Klaus' mods to free resources, which are needed for a
bit-perfect S/PDIF output signal;
3. buy a Blue Jeans s/pdif coax;
4. buy an ex

As I mentioned on the other thread I'm trying a 1.5m coax versus 0.5m
optical. Not sure if the optical is "supposed to be" (according to
theory) >=1.5m or 2.5m or whatever...but I went short anyway. I'm
guessing there aren't mirrors at the ends of the sockets!

BTW I ordered a couple of digital cables from Blue Jeans on 31 Jan
(1.5m coax and 0.5m optical). They were shipped on 2 Feb and arrived on
4 Feb! Tot

For what it's worth, I did some more tests to try and characterise the
data throughput under different scenarios. I compared WAV, FLAC and
'preset insane' MP3 (all created from the same original FLAC file),
using both wired and wireless connections. For reference, this is with
an unmodified Touc
