RE: Expectation Bias
It is a common misconception that any subjective influence we
experience only involves what we expect or want.
Our brains aren't quite that simple minded. Psychological studies show
that while we are often easily influenced by subjective factors, they

That appears to be a test lab. The actuator is still connected inside
and a there's a plug on the outside. I would like to see a production
unit, inside and out if possible.

Believe or not, I "reboot" my system at leas twice a year and I could
swear it sounds better then. Dusting and resetting components, cleaning
connectors, taking apart those rat nests of wires, properly rerouting
them, and probably ten other things you can do, makes my system sound
better and "clea

I've conducted a failed experiment over the weekend (basically, spent
most of the day moving my audio system from one part of the house to
another part of the house). Once I made the move, realized that the new
room acoustics were dismal, and was forced to take everything back to
the old room.

Lets work it back from the speakers.
Your room is 8' wide.
You need the speakers in from the side-walls, so very roughly lets
guess that they will be 6' or less apart - 1' in or more from each
wall.
So again, very roughly, allowing 1' behind them, if you sit somthing
like 6 - 8' away from the

I think by turning the table through 90 degrees there would be no room
to pass but by moving it to the window end of the room makes sense.
My concern would be that the seating position would be too close to the
speakers.
As that not the case ?

Hi folks.
The issue is not really new to me.
I thought only a very few stations would be affected. And that would be
strange enough. Why only some of them !?!??!
And standard audio is working!?!?? Hmmh.
I just had an idea. Could you do me a favour.
Does the chipmonk effect disappaers if you:
It's generally considered to be worthwhile to have your speakers and
listening position form roughly an equilateral triange. Your current
proposal is way away from this - moreover your speakers will fire into
or even under your dining table.
Why not swivel the dining table and place it parall and
This comment about "chipmunk effect" has me thinking as I also have this
problem now on one favorite radio station. I had experimented with
