So now I'm running at spdif 48 (my value before changing the jive_alsa)
and still with jive_alsa at 55.
I'm using a Audiolab CDQ 8200 as DAC and can heard great diff. in
sound.
And I think that this mod should be something th

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...

Will it do the same with a 176.4 signal?
Would you know if it uses an intelligent algorithm like modern sample
rate conversion chips or if it just divides by two?
Regarding the 192k viny
I'm sure you've already experimented with this, but with those
distances, a difference of a few feet would, it seems to me, only move
the sweet spot a little off center. I also can't imagine doing much
serious listening sitting outdoors on a stone bench, but that's just

tweaking the different SPDIF values changes the sound noticably,
particularly in bass depth and soundstage.
Settled on value of 48 for now, but doing some new diy mods to my Dac,
so will have a play again once my ears burn in with the new discreet
regulators :)

Your local SqueezeBox server is down sampling the 192 kHz content. Try
loading a 192 kHz file onto an SD card or USB stick and plug those
directly into your Touch. You get

I think there was a thread recently discussing total delays introduced
by all the buffering / processing, but I can't find it. Everyone on
the forum's very helpful & some are extremely knowledgeable.
