For those who wish to try it, here is the /usr/bin/tt config for all
non-essential processes stopped but factory priority values for those
that remain.
To be used with TT3.0 using following settings:

-k for after the settings file is edited.

You've moved your settings all over the place the last week and keep

At this point, your claims don't carry much weight and are no better
than anyone that has ever made a tweak of the SBT.

The buffer has been at 3400 since TT 2.0, because it sounds better
there. You know it does, but you tune your system to your taste and
listening level by increasing it, only to once again move away from
true 'improved sound'. Why not try moving your speakers out away from

I still like your original (i.e. not there anymore) p48 settings.
Unfortunately they have that burr in the HFs (here). There's no way I
can relate those settings to any

I think that with your latest settings you're on to something.
I tried the SBT priorities + TT3.0 + Buffer 2 and my first
impression is that the music is presented more naturally; the flow is
more effortless; there is greater detail, but without losing the
music's gestalt and drive.

Yes, I have. The results were not encouraging.
However, I also tried the latest (01-01-2012?) SBGK's.
Initial impression in my next post.

Oh, so how to get to this base(OOTB) setting. Is it to just change the
tt file with a new set of values. Can someone pls give those default
settings.

Hello,
I also have a Trivista DAC which I have been happily using for the last
6 years. I have recently tried a few more modern DACS, including Naim,
and have not found one that is the equal of my Trivista. Although
several years old, the DAC used in the Trivista is a 24 bit 96/192KHz
which is abl
In principle, and especially if you are ready to spend up to £3000, I
would recommend going the new DAC route over refurbishing a 9-year old
unit. Which one is, of course, a function of your musical tastes as
well as your other equipment.
Good hunting! (Not an entirely bad way to start the new ye
