The standard digital optical out from SB3 and duet is a standard sized
toslink correct? Not a mini? How tightly is it supposed to fit? On both
my SB3 and duet it just kind of sits there and falls out easily, this is
with the house shape upside down, it doesn't seem to fit in any other
way.

Agree 100%.

Before I had the Touch I had the SB3, I used both into different DACs,
all connected with coax.
Compared to the Touch in all cases the SB3 sounded duller, less clear,
less detailed.
The difference was clearly audible to my ears, I was amazed at the
difference two related digital sources could mak
I am using Transporter to play streaming but I also use the DAC for an
external source.
This all is controled via a harmony remote control. But it requires
several keystrokes to flip from one to the other.
Is there a way to store the Digital Input as a favorite? Or can the
choice for digital input

I think you would be hard pressed to hear any difference between the SB3

Ok, I'm not following. If coaxial can do 24/192 and optical 24/96, why
the limit to 24/48 (which, by the way, for everything I've read so far
might not be that much of a limit, as I've always understood the the 24
bit precision is more important than sample rate)?
