make the
DAC's see a nice load. My pre is 47k and it works nicely.
Cheers.

I meant that people prefer it when used with an external DAC :)
I built the SPDIF reciever myself yes. It's located inside a Behringer
DCX2496.

Thanks Wombat
That's why people prefer the Transporter. I have transformer coupled my
SB. And also added some padding resistors. Makes a nice difference.
Combined with the SPDIF reciever from Jocko Homo it's a nice combo. No
need for Transporter then.

So, if used with an extrenal DAC, you should not gain much in the
digital transmission (and thereby in sound quality)?

Does anyone know how the coaxial digital out is carried out in the
Transporter? Is it transformer coupled? Any padding network etc?

increase the amplitude of the signal, it has no
trouble to lock on the signal. Since the protocole is almost simular, I
guess it's just a question of level for the chip to lock? (but it has
indeed a bug)

ge the attenuator on the SB output for
less attenuation, but same impedanse, I'll bet it will lock nicely.
But, then other problems migth occure :) (reflections etc..)

Polarbear'
are having trouble also?
Some people use a SPDIF to AES konverter with great success. A
transformer interfacing the two modes. I have a M-audio CO3 wich
converts from Toslink to AES into my behringer. Works great.
