have had LP records I always blamed a dodgy sounding one on a worn
stylus. The only cleaning I did was a carbon fibre brush before playing.

I bought an original West German AM+ CD of Even In The Quietest Moments
and checked the dynamic range using TT-DR offline and the first track of
my CD measures 13, while the 24/96 Hi Res from Qobuz measures 7. Not
even close.

is good. They (and others) have recently made available a Hi Res version

hen I found (I think) that a slight hard edge to the sound
which was more noticeable at higher volumes had disappeared resulting
in a much more natural and less fatiguing sound. I have no idea why
this should be true. Maybe my 0.75m coax was too short :-)
