CDs that actually make use of the full dynamic range the disc is capable of recording, so there is plenty to "throw away" for replay gain. IIRC, in my collection, replaygain typically lowers the track gain by 3-5 dB. Replay

Did you plug in a USB thumb drive? I find that doing so causes linux to change the path to the external HDD with my music library and it stops working. One of these days I'll go in and fix it so that the OS doesn't change the path like that... TD -- ty
