Hmmm... 1) do not believe everything you read 2) optical connections are/were used extensively in recording studios... 3) the usual and correct advice is to ignore dogma and try both the coax (s/pdif) and toslink(optical) IN YOUR SYSTEM. The usual result of this is that they both sound the same. A
