DVD-A is already dead for one. 16bit sounds good/44.1 when you get to 20bit/48hz they do sound much much better. Beyond that no system or ears can hear the difference. I finally found tools to extract 24/96 off my DVD's (DVD-V side of DVD-A's and DVD's) and I won't keep it secret like some folks

Sorry, I should have been clearer. Most DVD-A's have MLP 2 Channel 24/192 or 5.1 24/96 on the "DVD-A" side. They also often have DTS 5.1 and 24/96 LPCM on the DVD-V side. I have no problem getting the DTS/AC3 stuff off. But a few DVD-A's that are strictly 2 channel (i.e. 2 channel MLP 24/192 on D

Thanks Dave. Your correct, I thought analog-dsp settings worked with analog-direct. Changing the rate is only available when using the analog-dsp mode, which I learned I don't want since I want to take advantage of the Transporter dac. I'm still learning about the two channel/Slimdevice world.

There's really no need for two runs anyway, as most recording software allows you to convert between different sample rates and word lengths. Record and save it at 24/96, then downconvert to 16/48 or 24/48 for your daily use files... Dave -- DCtoDaylight --

At this time the Transporter does not resample audio data under any circumstances. The firmware architecture really never had resampling in mind. The SB3 will resample 88.2KHz and 96KHz content down to 44.1KHz and 48KHz, respectively. I would suggest you check the wav file to make sure it real

Well 24/96 support was one thing I wanted, but hadn't actually tried out until tonight. I ripped a couple of 24/96 music DVD's, and gave them a try. My first experiment was just to play raw .wav files, and that worked fine. Next I pulled them into iTunes, and converted them to Apple Lossless.

I did test 24/96 before we shipped, BUT I don't have a lot of test content in 24/96 formats. I expect there are some 24/96 tracks that don't play due to oddities in the formats that the firmware or software decoders don't understand. So, don't be reluctant to file a bug if you run across such
