I have a 3 year old Jolida 202 amp driving some B&W 803 speakers. I
found that the move to tubes really got rid of some of the harshness
associated with CDs and now with the Squeezebox (digital sources).
Sure you can spend lots on DACs with great analog sections and jitter
free clocks but for $8
Thanks to all responders!
There's some really interesting tube kit out there...

Right now, it's $1200 packaged together with some excellent monitor
speakers. The speakers are slightly forward sounding, could be too

The Chinese are running away with audiophile quality tube amp designs
these days.
Not exactly simpatico with an SB3, and not a pure tube amp (the tubes
are only used for the preamp stage) I use a Pathos Cinema X amplifier.
Outrageously expensive but gorgeous beyond belief.

I use it with Klipsch Heresy speakers, so I have enough efficiency to
get to pretty loud levels. I like it because it is small (looks cool
having a system with just the Squeezebox and small amplifier) and it
sounds AWESOME - smooth, mellow and rich. I have attached a picture.

I've used my SB with a Cayin A-70T integrated amp (KT88) with good
results. Disclaimer that I'm a Cayin dealer...
(have not tried it with my Transporter, but I'd assume it would only
sound better than the SB...)
