I'll read through the thread in a moment, but I have found personally
that coax is far better. I think it is the fault of the Squeezebox 3
and not my DAC [Lavry Black DA10] as coax and optical are nearly
identical when using my Eastsound CD-E5 as a transport.

In previous comparisons with AV gear the coax is usually better, not
that I can actually tell, but it is the choice for high end audio for
the tefal heads out there...

Yeah, there seems to be enough interest for one more buy. Just PM or
email me and I will get the list together next week.

PSU! I bought a 5V stabilized 1A wall power supply on ebay - that´s all
(i didn´t find another here in germany). Not any kind of humming
anymore.
So even if you use the digital exit, another PSU seems to help.

Oh, I see! Thanks for the suggestion!
Yes, I have some signal transformers which I will try out when I get

Interesting result, and nice simple solution, BTW!

I accidently found my power amplifiers humming when first switching off
my D/A converter! This only happens with the Squeezy connected via
Coaxial.
Changing the phase of the power supply or the edge connectors never get
rid of the problem but changed its quality all the time.

While I like to listen to music on a good system, I cannot be called an
audiophile. I have a home theatre system with a Denon AVR-2803
receiver. I also use Klipsch RF-5 mains, RC-7 center and RS-35
surrounds. I also have RW12 for the sub. I currently use a Toshiba

I hadn´t much time in testing my Squeezy to hard.

Yeah, I know. I'm waiting for a supply for the TacT 2.2x (but no result
yet), and I have provisionally hooked up my bench-supply to the SB. I
put the TacT on a mains-filter, which was a massive improvement.

Thanx for all the interesting responses.
I ended up buying a Black Rhodium Rhythm Coax cable.

Apparently bandwidth limitations in lower grade toslink connections can
induce jitter - see the comment at the top of this page:

I think Sean has said the coax output has slightly less jitter.

Anders,
Check the internal dac as well before you buy an external dac. I can't
hear the difference between the internal dac and the benchmark on my
SB3.
