No problems out of the box - works as default:
XLR connections Pin 2 hot - connection to RCA centre pin, Pin 1 ground
- connection to shield / ground on RCA phono. Leave Pin3 XLR
unconnected.
Set to crystal lock. Volume at 40 (equivalent to typical cd player
output).
Check for green lock ligh
I just read your plea for help with xlr to rca connections on the Lavry
DA. I am just getting mine set up (December 30th), and am having the
exact same problem and did all the jumper, etc. steps, to no avail.
I figured it could be the analog out cable to my amp (XLR out, RCA in
to amp).

Thanks Tobi. I appreciate not overlooking the obvious because that is
probably what I did.
When I go to navigate to settings on the squeezebox, i get the
following list of options:
1. Alarm Clock
2. Crossfade
3. Information
4. Repeat
5. Screensaver
6. Shuffle
7. Song Title Format
8. Text Size
9
It's obvious, but you never know:
Did you make sure the digital output of the SB3 is activated at all?

I have switched the jumpers between pin 2 hot and pin 3 hot and still no
results. I also do not get a sound out of the headphone jack with any
of these configurations.
I am beginning to think that it is my connection between the SB3 and
the Lavry DA10. I am curious what cables others have used
Why do you have the polarity inverted?
PFloding is right -- your cable is probably 2nd pin hot.
