To the OP - I agree with Skunk; if you're running the output of the SB into a digital preamp, upgrades to the analogue path in the SB are pretty useless (since you'll almost certainly be better off sending a digital signal in to the pre). One other thing to keep in mind is that the cost of thes

Like you said if the analog is run through DSP in the pre/pro the upgrade to the better DAC chip would be useless. Plus it's the same DAC (i'm guessing) but the 'ke' version. There is even the possibility that the chip in your Sb performs just as well as a KE. I would find out if you have true by
