I use the DLIII with a PS Audio Digital AC Cord. This cord has been
excellent with every digital source I have tried it on, and
significantly improved the sound of the DLIII.

I am very pleased with a stock DLIII driven by a Duet reciever with
Acopian linear PS, over a Creative Cable Green Hornet 2m cable. Very
resolving, very musical, not at all strident (and I am quite sensitive
to strident gear). The Green Hornet sounds much better in this system
than the Stereovox X
Phil! This is a nice sunny day here, so I'm rather going to equip myself
with some nice cold ale. I appreciate our discussion as being an
exchange of beliefs and opinions, without any pressure to actually
persuade the other party. Otherwise, I would suggest vodka as the weapon
of choice. Now, as t

I wonder if they "observed" these effects through actual measurements,
or just with ears-alone listening tests (like I

Paul, thank you for the detailed answer. The reason I asked was that I
_now_ have a completely opposite opinion of my (Cullen-modded) DLIII,
however when I first installed it things were very different. It went
into my system side-by-side with what was my pet DIY project for almost
2 years. AD DAC

I own both the PS Audio DLIII(unmodded with an SB3) and a Transporter.
I am very happy with the DLIII and wouldn't hesitate to recommend i

It's to do with reflections along the tranmission line - there's a
well-known article on the Internet about this that has been referenced
many times on this forum. 1.5m is the minimum l

The only mods to an SB2/3 that would really make sense if using an
external
The only gain you'd get using a Transporter to feed an external DAC is
the ability to feed the DAC with actual 24/96 files.
Pretty expensive (and probably pointless) exercise.

In my opinion:
If you do get a Transporter, than like occam says, you would be best
served by just using its built-in DAC.
If you are going to use an external DAC regardless, then like Rodney
says, you should just use your un-modded SB to supply the digital
signal.

What's wrong with the Sb's digital output that makes it require
modification?
Whats wrong with your sound that you wish to correct?
I nave SB3's and a transporter and they both sound identical to my high
end transport when using their SPDIF out.. I dunno if the Sb2 uses he
same digital circuitry o
Thanks,
But do you see any issue with the digital out of the SB2? Does this
really matter because I use an external DAC or should I consider a
Modding of the Digital Output of the SB2?

The TP's dac is better than the SB's one , however I don't feel its the
best thing since sliced bread. IMHO the route you should take is to use
your SB as a digital front end and fiddle with different stand alone
dacs if you arent happy with your sound.

Hi,
I just purchased the ARCAM AVR600 and run the SB2 with this
combination, as DAC.
Now I want to upgrade the DAC. So I have a basic question:
If I feed the FLAC music with SB2 into a DAC than it is not important
if I use the Transporter for this or only the SB2? In that case I will
