Strikes me that you're going to be limited by how good your AV amp is.
I've yet to hear one that I think can really deal with music.
So I'd suggest you go the cheap option of the duet, as I just don't see
you getting the benefit of the extra spend on the transporter.

Anybody noting significant differences with duet, using digital out...
and a better power supply, like the Channel Islands audio VDC 9.0?

I would say you should try out the Duet first. I have a Transporter and
to use it with my Onkyo AVR I had to buy a crossover and use the
multi-channel analog in order to get the sub to work.

Although before I bought my system I though I'd use the Controller
exclusively, I would REALLY miss the graphic display of my Transporter
and the ability to choose/change a song with my Harmony remote as well
as my Controller (I use them each about 50% of the time). The VU

Use the digital output of duet into an external dac of your choice or
into the reciever. I thik the TP is way OTT for what you get and it's
DAC isnt the best thing since sliced bread.

Try to plug your Denon player through your digital coax input of your

Buy a duet, listen to it, see if its great enough to make you happy. If
so, be happy. If not buy a Transporter and use the duet in another room

Hi, I am trying to figure out whether to get a Duet or a Transporter. I
currently have a Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver which I guess would be
mid-upper range ($1700 when bought new two years ago). I also have a
Rotel 200x5 amp powering my Polk LSi speakers and a big SVS subwoofer.
Given how amazing
