Is this SB3 is not as good as a Touch but neither of them have very good
headphone out ? Some would say bad headphone out.
So even if you get a Touch instead of the SB3 it leaves the headphone
drive problem ?

Thanks for the recommendations, all. I'm not quite ready to trade in my
unit for a Touch as I'm using the wireless bridge function with my
Blu-ray player. I haven't kept up with the latest Touch news, but last
I heard, it lacks this capability.

I would have to agree with most if all you have is $300 the Touch has a
very good built in DAC. I found it to be comparable to my $600 NAD
compact disc player. But if you doubled your budget I would look at the
Moon D100 DAC its excellent for the price. $600 It outperforms all my
other input equip
Yep, I believe a Logitech Touch is better as a DAC than you will find
for $300.
If you go a little higher, the new -Dac Magic 100- at $359 might be an
improvement. Uses a Wolfson DAC for a really nice mellow sound.

The best sub $300 DAC for you is a Squeezebox Touch.
The trick is, you're highly unlikely to improve your listening
experience with a $300 DAC. You already have an equal DAC in your
Classic.
It would help us out if you explained the rest of your system, and room
layout, treatments.
