HINDARI BABY WALKER
Penggunaan Babywalker tidak dianjurkan. Alat ini memang membuat si kecil
melaju kesana ke mari dengan cepat.
Namun di lain pihak, alat ini tidak membantu si kecil mengembangkan
kekuatan dan koordinasi yang dibutuhkannya untuk melangkahkan kaki. Selain
itu, babywalker juga menghalangi pandangan si kecil terhadap kedua kakinya.
Akibatnya, ia tak dapat mengontrol kaki nya sendiri.
Si kecil yang menggunakan babywalker juga beresiko cukup tinggi mengalami
kecelakaan. Misalnya si kecil ingin meraih sesuatu di luar jangkauannya, ia
bisa terguling bersama babywalkernya itu, terguling ditangga, atau menabrak
benda disekitarnya. Data America Academy of Pediatrics menyebutkan, setiap
tahunnya 14.000 anak di Amerika Serikat dikirim ke rmah sakit akibat
kecelakaan saat menggunakan babywalker.
