I was just testing this.
I started a rescan, and then suddenly remembered that I hadn't updated to
latest SVN version, so I aborted the scan.
Abort said it had finished the scan, but the scan was still running, and the
current phase continued to report progress

It seems inherently nonsensical that a vote is not cast automatically
when an author enters a bug. I don't many even realize this is
necessary... who would think it was?

why don't people vote for their own bugs?

We're not talking about reliable, so much as consistent. Artist counts
are very open to interpretation. And album counts will differ depending
on whe

FWIW, I have identical track, album and artist counts in 7.5 and 7.6. My
library may be tagged differently than yours, of course. I don't use any
COMPOSER tags, for instance.
Are leading and trailing spaces in names now _supposed_ to be
significant, or was this an oversight? I recall it being men

I have almost no albums with disc numbers - I generally remove disknumbers when
I rip albums - eg. a 2 disc album will be a single album in my library with
track numbers running contiguously.
I have perhaps got one or two alb

it really bothers me that the software won't at the very least, allow
you to opt out of a scan when installing or upgrading or whatever, and
also allow you to simply opt out of all automatic scanning of any
type.
SBS should not just take it upon itself to initiate scans just b/c
there is no music

Now that the 7.6 scanner random crashing seems to be fixed, I've tried a scan
and have some subsequent observations:
1. When 7.6 is started and there's no music library, it starts an implicit
scan, but it doesn't report scan progress in the web UI (used to appear at
bottom of screen).
