This case shows the danger of someone making a project public
(and potentially getting a lot of users)
without understanding the security issues.
Maybe we should add mechanisms to the server software so
that render it inoperative unless the project admin
has addressed the basic security issues.

brings Anansi back online before changing its address the links in Mark and
Nicolás's emails could again become live.

Actually, asking here for publicity is a pretty good way of getting the
word out. Many of us have access to team sites and will spread the word
that way.

Either the site is currently down, or the port is being blocked by a
corporate firewall.
You are going to get many fewer volunteers if you insist on a non-standard
port. Please consider using ports 80 and 443 (http and https) like most of
the projects do.

I've found another issue with Mac OS 10.6 Snow leopard that has
necessitated additional changes in BOINC. I would appreciate
feedback if anyone sees these changes as a problem.
