This case shows the danger of someone making a project public (and potentially getting a lot of users) without understanding the security issues. Maybe we should add mechanisms to the server software so that render it inoperative unless the project admin has addressed the basic security issues. E.

Either the site is currently down, or the port is being blocked by a corporate firewall. You are going to get many fewer volunteers if you insist on a non-standard port. Please consider using ports 80 and 443 (http and https) like most of the projects do. jm7
