For gmail to work you should probably be using port 587 or 465. Also, you
need to be sure that you've enabled IMAP access from within your gmail
account settings, otherwise it'll be refused also.

I think the problem may be that Xampp does not have smtp enabled by
default, I may be mistaken.

I dont get an error , I just get nothing
