I have subscribed to the CCP4 bulletin board for over 25 years and attended
many CCP4 meetings. I am changing role shortly and will no longer be a
crystallographer so will unsubscribe from the board. I just wanted to pass on
my thanks to everyone who has written posts, contributed to discussions
Dear All,
We are looking to replace our current Minstrel Rigaku Imager and would be
interested to know what other people use and their unbiased opinion of the
options available.
Please feel free to contact me off the board and I will try and post a summary
Thanks in advance

Dr Clare E.
I would try it both ways and see what you get. Also do controls of buffer into
each protein
For extra info could also try with SPR. Always best to do these things using
multiple complimentary methods
Best wishes

Olga,
We use the liquidator96 and are very happy with it. You have to use their own
tips but they fit well and as long as you use it properly it works really well.
I trialled a few other makes but this works well for us.
Best wishes

Adam,
We had a trial of the Avid nano W130i DLS system. I liked the small size and
the disposable cuvettes. At present we have a Dynapro which is an old machine
now but works well.
Best wishes

Dear Venkat,
We recently solved a protein DNA complex structure and I had all the same
queries as you have at the outset. We decided to use SPR as a techniques to
study the interaction of the protein with the DNA and to use this to guide the
choice of DNA for co-crystallisation. The work has
Dear All,
First I would like to thanks everyone who took the time to respond. It never
fails to amaze me what an awesome forum the ccp4bb board is and how willing
people are to share their expertise!
Below is a summary of the replies I received

I was hoping people could give some tips on the best way to go about
crystallizing a protein-DNA complex.
I have a large amount of experience in protein crystallisation but have
never tried co-crystallisation with DNA until I started this project.
If you want to reply to me personally I will then
