I have to second Tim on this. I have limited experience, but from what I have personally seen and from what I have heard from others that used it in Iraq and Afghanistan, it leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully the military will come up with something that will be a lot better and more reliable.

You've summed up my personal opinion of it. It fires from an open bolt. Not good in the terrain we deal in. The way the open bolt feed system works, you actually have to break a round off of the belt to go to a ready to fire condition. There are teeth on the front of the bolt that grab the round
